Saturday, June 23^rd Hamburg, 21.00 hrs.

This evening, Hamburg was about to witness a show, that we had promised would be, a True Star-Club Night, and that is exactly what they got!

The rehearsals were over, the sound check complete,  interviews and filming were over, the cast were fed and watered, so let’s get the show on the road.

With the stage extended to accommodate the number of Musicians and Performers in the show;  an  impressive sight to behold

All of the Original 1963 Dominoes, plus Ecki Hoffman 'Baritone Sax' took to the stage, but for contractual reasons they performed under the banner of 'Sounds of the Sixties' Star-Club All-stars: they backed Kingsize Taylor for 30 minutes, then backed Brian Parrish, lead singer and guitarist from 'The Londoners' who then in turn, stayed on to back Karl Terry.

The show was running like clockwork, a total sell out! The atmosphere was electric! Those people who could not gain entry, were not to be disappointed - they stood outside and watched through the windows and they were dancing and clapping to the pumping sound  being generated from inside.

After a 20 minute break, the band took to the stage again. The McKinnley Sisters were introduced to thunderous applause, and did a fantastic set, much to the appreciation of the audience. After another shorter break, due to the fact that, by this time everybody was charged up, and ready to go. Out of respect, Roy Young, a true star of the Star-Club, took the star spot. I have never seen so many artistes, who had worked so hard all day, so charged up, and ready to go.

To say that 'Mr Boogie Woogie' Roy young, was unbelievable, would be the understatement of the year. If you ever have the opportunity to watch Roy perform, then just do it! you will love every second.

Its impossible to say with humble words the feelings that everybody felt on this historical occasion, but absolute Star-Club Magic - 40 years on! is my thought.

Thanks to Marga, who came up with the idea, and the people who helped make the event the success it was, 'Sounds of the Sixties' has international status.

We came. We did it. It was hailed as the greatest Star-Club show since 1964.
