Sound Check 4:10

This, in common with previous 'Sounds of the Sixties' concerts, was a fabulous show. A sound check was carried out at 4:00 when Lynda Gail Lewis arrived to meet up with her supporting band, 'Jukebox Eddies' The Cavern walls were soon rebounding with 'Great Balls of Fire' as Linda Gail blasted out her distinctive style of Rock and Boogie. It didn't take the musicians very long to gel and the sound check turned out to be a professional rendition of some of Linda Gail's best Rock 'n' Roll numbers...

Jukebox Eddies carried out their own sound check whilst Linda Gail looked on with approval...

Mike belted out the classic Elvis number 'My Baby Left Me' with great style - this is one of my favourite songs and gets my personal seal of approval - making the sound so close to original requires some great backing and Owen with his age old slap-bass style and Ritchie with his distinctive Scotty Moore style setup with an able Jim on drums delivered the goods... The original, an Arthur Crudup, blues, was the only RCA release that featured a  a non-stop fingerpicking Scotty, with the ad-lib feel of the Sun session records (although the introductory two-bar pattern dominated Scotty's backup) Ritchie is renowned for this emulation - putting his own swing into it.
